![]() Got the the carb off again now and going to try to clean again. Seemed worse if I tried to give it throttle. Tried to start and when it started it was backfiring real bad and the engine was idling rough. Put it back together and put back on the bronco. Made sure I put the air through all the passages that I could and seen. Sprayed with carb cleaner and let stand for a little then blew it out with an air hose. Now I did not buy a rebuild kit or completely take the carb all the way down to clean. Took just the top of the carb off and sure enough there was stuff in the bottom of the fuel bowls. It was kind of dirty so I will pick up a new one today and also think about adding another one closer to the fuel tank. Well, took the carb off last night to start to clean. #Replacing sparkbox igniter in 1975 ford bronco modsNot much done too it as with mods goes and it is pretty much stock. It's seems like to me that it is a fuel problem and not an ignition problem but I'm sure I could be wrong. I have done searches on this but everything came up with a distributor problem or gas bubbling. I drained it and put some high octane gas in it and it is still doing it. This started about 2 weeks ago after I put some gas in it and I thought I got some bad gas or something. It dosent cut off or anything and after about 5 minutes or do it returns to normal only to happen again while driving. ![]() But if I just let off the gas pedal and let it idle it is normal. ![]() I'll try and give it gas and it sputters like it is out of gas ( which it isn't). I go and drive it and after a few miles or when it gets warmed up it just starts sputtering on me. I get in and turn the key and it turns over with no problems. It has been running good and not giving me any problems. I have been driving the bronco back and forth to work (which is about 8miles one way) for some time up until last week. ![]()
